Indian troupe spices up UNNCC festival

From performances by artistes and regional cultural performers from within to inviting an Indian dance troupe which has given an outstanding performance that aroused everyone’s spirit of joy.

 
The second Uganda National Cultural Center's Arts and Culture festival started with an unforgettable remark with a change in formulae.

The three days festival slated for November 1- 3 started with a dance and writer's workshops, symposium, cultural performances from the west and poetry organised by Kitara Nation and performed by students from schools such as Mariam high school, St Joseph high school Namagoma among others.

The official opening was graced by the presence of the State Minister for Gender, Labor and Social Development Jane Peace Mutuuzo urged that artistes be celebrated the same way scientists are celebrated because they are one of the highest intellectual groups in the world.
 
"Artistes should be well emulated like scientists," she said.
 
"Culture does not die. It does not grow old. It evolves better almost every day that passes," he added.

Other performers that are to entertain during the festival are Nanduja and the planets, Mike Ouma, Ragga Dee, Shibah Mwiza, the Afrigo band that will crown the entire event and many others.
