Ugandan lifters had international exposure at home when they participated in the inaugural Africa Powerlifting Championships on Sunday at Lugogo Indoor Arena.

The event attracted 46 participants, male and women from Uganda and Cameroon who competed in Juniors (20-23yers), Open (24-32 yrs), Sub Masters (33-39 yrs) and the Master between 40-49yrs).

Three winners in each weight category qualified for the Powerlifting World Cup in Canada in May 2020, according to Chairman of the Ugandan Association (UPA), Meddie Kaaya.
