Mourners who intend to pay their last respects to the fallen spiritualist, Budhagali Nabamba, who passed away last Saturday at his Palace have been given guidelines to follow.

Tomorrow, that is when the public will be allowed to view his remains, after performing traditional rituals which comprise of sacrificing domestic animals as a requirement of awarding him a decent burial befitting his hierarchy in spiritualism, mourners who have had sex in the previous days and those who ate pork and fish are not allowed to view his body.

According to the spiritual norm, it is a taboo to have sex and look at the spiritualist. In order to please the fallen leader, no one is supposed to cry for him. If you cannot hold your tears, do not enter his palace. As he rests, only drums, cultural music is all that is needed.

Budhagali succumbed to diabetes and high blood pressure at Nile Hospital in Jinja District. The family members who saw him join his ancestors included his wife, Masitula Lukoowe Kyonaza and daughter Betty Namande.

Budhagali, rose to prominence ahead of the construction of the Bujagali Hydro Power Dam. The Oracle of Bujagali Falls took on the government, over the construction of a hydropower dam at the falls, saying the area is his spirits' habitat.

During the endless talks with the government, when asked who the owner of the falls was and the surrounding environment, he said the falls belonged to the spirits. The Government thus couldn't compensate him for the falls.
