Mbeki in Uganda for a conference on governance

Mbeki will be the Guest Speaker at the four-day conference which opens on Tuesday under the theme: Accountability, Innovations and Quality Public Service Delivery.

 KAMPALA - Former South African president, Thabo Mbeki arrived in Uganda on Monday ahead of the 2nd International Conference on Service Delivery in Developing Nations to be held in Kampala.

Mbeki will be the Guest Speaker at the four-day conference which opens on Tuesday under the theme: Accountability, Innovations and Quality Public Service Delivery.

President Yoweri Museveni will be the Guest of Honour at the conference organized by Uganda Management Institute (UMI) and scheduled to take place at Hotel Africana in Kampala.

Over 300 delegates from over 60 countries are expected to attend the conference, including scholars, students, and practitioners from diverse disciplines of public management.

Mbeki, who served as the second president of South Africa from June 1999, stepped down from power during his second term in September 2008.
