Bayo and Maroons FC coach Douglas Bamweyana scooped best player and coach awards for the month of September in Kampala Monday.

Vipers forward Fahad Bayo says he is not surprised that he managed to win the Pilsner Monthly Award because he has worked hard to be a better player.

"I have been working very hard since my return, and it is good that my efforts have been recognised. I thank Vipers for their faith in me and the sponsors for this award. I promise to do more in the coming months," Bayo said.

Bayo and Maroons FC coach Douglas Bamweyana scooped best player and coach awards for the month of September in Kampala Monday.

In the month of September, Bayo managed three goals and created two assists while Bamweyana's side had an excellent start to the season winning three games out of four in September and losing one game.

The other nominee for the coach of the month was SC Villa's Kaziba Edward who had three wins and one draw but one of the wins was awarded to them after Proline refused to honour their league game.

Bamweyana praised his entire technical team and players for the good work that has enabled him to win the award.
