Tanzania eliminated Sudan after a 2-1 victory at FUFA Technical Centre Njeru in the first semifinal of the day while Kenya escaped determined Eritrea after defender Yoseif Mebahto own goal in the 85th minute of the game in the last semifinal played at Pece War Memorial stadium Gulu Thursday.

Tanzania, who return to this year's final, last appeared in 1995 when they surrendered the trophy to Ethiopia in the tournament hosted in Kenya.

Coached by Zuberi Katwila, the young Tanzanians have been impressive throughout the tournament hosted by Uganda, scoring seventeen goals and conceding only five.

Katwila's side proved her angriness and readiness to win this year's challenge cup when they comfortably eliminated hosts Uganda in the quarterfinals after a 4-2 victory at Pece War Memorial Stadium in Gulu.

The future Taifa Stars of Tanzania are now 90 minutes away from winning their nation a second trophy, having won the first one in 1971.

Kenya on their note has also had a good campaign scoring fifteen goals, conceding four, not losing a single game right from the group stages.

The Nairobi side has played in three finals, first in 1973, 1975and 1999, winning two and losing one.

Will the Kenyans make it three trophies to their name or Tanzania will add a second one to theirs?, all these questions will be answered in the anticipated final come this Saturday.

Uganda is the defending champion having won the last edition in 2010 defeating hosts Eritrea.
