It is not yet clear what caused her death but according to reports, she fell ill on Tuesday morning

The government is mourning the sudden death of Kawempe Division Deputy Resident City Commissioner (RCC), Deborah Nabukenya who passed away on Tuesday evening.

ICT and national guidance minister Frank Tumwebaze took to Twitter on Tuesday to mourn Nabukenya describing her as a brilliant and active person.

"Just got disturbing news from @harderHB (Kampala Deputy RCC Herbert Anderson) about the death of an active young and brilliant youth leader the Deputy RDC of Kawempe Division, Deborah," Tumwebaze tweeted.

"Just in Pain about this young girl. She was always among the best RDCs I worked with. May the almighty God comfort her family. #RIP Deborah," he added.

It is not yet clear what caused her death but according to reports, Nabukenya fell ill on Tuesday morning and was rushed to Mengo Hospital and later in the evening as her condition worsened, forcing medics to place her on a ventilator.

She, however, breathed her last late on Tuesday evening.
