The national side that arrived in Port Luis today is optimistic of putting up a good show.

"The training camp we had in Njeru helped prepared us well for the competition. The girls are in good conditions and ready to give their best. We believe we have what it takes to challenge any opponent," coach Ayub Khalifa said.

However, Zambia coach Kangwa Kaluba says his side will try to replicate the good run at the ten-day competition.

"What is important is that we have to understand that the Under-17 is a developmental process. Whatever the outcomes are going to be, we must appreciate the fact that we have got a group of young girls that are going to represent us well," Kaluba told Zambia Football Association.

Uganda that is placed Group A will face the hosts on Sunday in their second game before finalising the group matches with Comoros on September 24th at the MFA Technical Facility.

Group B comprises of Botswana, Madagascar, South Africa, and Seychelles

The top two teams in group A and B will qualify for the semifinals.
