Statement from Beatrice Ikilai

I, Beatrice Ikilai respond to a malicious and defamatory article published in the Monitor newspaper dated 11/09/2019 written by Mr. Fredrick Musisi. The article raised misleading points and I would like to clarify as follows;

1. The Article alleges that the Public Private Partnership Forum Africa Conference is convened by private individuals using government's name. I was nominated by the Government of Uganda to the UNECE Bureau of Public Private Partnerships where I was eventually appointed through a competitive process as the first African as the Vice Chair of the Bureau of UNECE Working Party on Public Private Partnerships. I am also the Africa Co-ordinator of World Association of Public Private Partnerships and the Co-President of the Africa Public Private Partnership Network. The key mandate under this assignment is to promote infrastructure delivery under a Public Private Partnership arrangement promoting people first principles in support of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals in Uganda and the entire Africa.
