Nantaba off Ssebulime murder case

A Police officer David Ssali was in April charged with the murder of Ronald Ssebulime, whom he allegedly shot dead in Naggalama village in Mukono district.

The Director of Public Prosecutions has dropped charges against ICT state minister Idah Nantaba.

Nantaba has been under investigation after the murder of Ssebulime, who was reportedly gunned down after he was suspected of trailing and trying to kill the minister.

 

The Police admitted that Ronald Ssebulime was wrongfully killed by their officer after suspecting him of having attempted to assassinate Idah Nantaba.



"It is true that the deceased was removed from the police pickup and instantly shot dead by our officer. We have arrested the car commander and 2 crew members for trying to conceal the true facts of the events surrounding the killing of Sebulime," according to a statement that was released by Fred Enanga, the Police Spokesperson.

Ssali appeared before Mukono Grade One Magistrate Mariam Nalugya Ssemwanga.

Resident state attorney Racheal Namutebi told the court that Ssali on March 24 murdered Ssebulime while at Naggojje.
