KAMPALA - The Archbishop of Kampala Archdiocese, Dr. Cyprian Kizito Lwanga, has condemned the spate of killings happening in the country, saying this must stop.

He said it is a sign of deteriorating faith among the people.

The prelate singled out murder and kidnap cases as worrying, saying they have not only lowered human dignity, but have also put parents and their children in fear.

Lwanga made the remarks on Sunday while addressing hundreds of Catholics at the inauguration St. Dennis Ssebuggwaawo at Kkonge-Lukuli.

He said the level at which innocent women and men in towns and villages are being abducted and killed has reached appalling levels.

The Archbishop said the lack of love for one another has led to destruction of life and property.

“Every day in the newspapers, we read shocking news of murder in different parts of the country. This is a sign that people have started wavering in their faith," he told the faithful.
