KCCA FC new signing Odumegwu ready to impress

Sep 09, 2019

Odumegwu started his career with Ifeanyi Uba FC in Nigeria in 2015 and later moved to Warri Wolves FC in 2016.

KCCA FC new signing John Egbuonu Odumegwu hopes to do well for his new club. The Nigerian forward joined the league champions on a two-year deal.

"I feel so happy to be at the best club in the CECAFA region. This is a very big club with a very rich history and any player would love to be part of such a club. Back home in Nigeria, this club is respected for its performances and records not forgetting the philosophy of using a young team in major competitions like CAF," stated Odumegwu.

Odumegwu started his career with Ifeanyi Uba FC in Nigeria in 2015 and later moved to Warri Wolves FC in 2016 where he put up great performances in the Nigerian Premier League.

He later caught the eye of Plateau FC in 2017 where he spent a short stint before moving to Rivers United FC.

He played for Rivers United when they played KCCA FC in the CAF Confederations Cup group stages in 2017 and provided an assist in the home and away game.

"I am here for only one job and that is to play football. I want to write history for this club and I cannot wait to get started," he said.

Odumegwu will wear shirt nine formerly donned by Patrick Henry Kaddu who has since moved to RS Berkane of Morocco.

He is the fifth signing for KCCA FC in this transfer window after Keziron Kizito, John Revita, Erisa Ssekisambu, and Simon Sserunkuma.
