SECAM ends colourfully

The Symposium of Episcopal Conferences of Africa and Madagascar (SECAM) has come to an end in a colourful ceremony at Uganda Martyrs Catholic Shrine Namugongo in Wakiso district on Sunday, July 28, 2019. The event started with a procession of over 400 visiting bishops and cardinals before mass in which the newly elected SECAM president, Philippe Nakellentuba Ouédraogo (Archbishop of Ouagadougou in Burkina Faso), was the main celebrant. Thousands thronged the ceremony including MPs, ministers, civil servants, students, pupils, Buganda kingdom officials, and the Vice President Edward Kiwanuka Ssekandi, who represented the Government.
