Meanwhile, earlier in the day, the State Minister of Sports Charles Bakkabulindi advised She Cranes players to stay focused.

She Cranes skipper Peace Proscovia is convinced that Uganda will beat host England Roses at the Netball World Cup at the M&S Arena in Liverpool, England at 9:00 pm Friday evening.

''We are twice as equal in strength as England and all we need to do is play a calm game because England is at home and the crowds could disrupt us,'' she said.

Proscovia made the remarks after the opening ceremony of the 15th Netball World Cup.

She added that Uganda only needs to beat the host in a bid to scare off the other group D opponent's Samoa and Scotland.

The biggest netball stage has attracted 16 teams.

Meanwhile, earlier in the day, the State Minister of Sports Charles Bakkabulindi advised She Cranes players to stay focused.

''Just play your best game ever and the government will get a reason to appreciate you for the success. We (government) are behind you,'' he said.
