Cancer patient seeks sh10m for Surgery

Surundu made his first visit for treatment in Arua regional referral hospital on July 2, 2017, and was diagnosed with cancer of the skin only to be referred to Mulago hospital for a biopsy.

ARUA - A 33 years old man with an Albinism condition suffering from cancer of the skin is seeking public support for treatment.
Gift Surundu appeals to well-wishers, institutions and government bodies to support him with sh10m to get treatment from Mulago national referral hospital.
Surundu made his first visit for treatment in Arua regional referral hospital on July 2, 2017, and was diagnosed with cancer of the skin only to be referred to Mulago hospital for a biopsy.
However due to financial constraints, he was unable to proceed for further treatment.
Speaking to New Vision on Thursday, Surundu said, he got clearance from the Resident District Commissioner (RDC) of Arua Oyaa Nahori Awua in a letter dated May 2, 2019 permitting him to seek financial support from the public for the treatment.
Since the death of his father, Surundu's has been taken care of by his mother. She is responsible for his survival.
On a daily basis, he walks with a copy of the referral letter from the hospital seeking funds for his treatment.
Surundu needs to undergo radiotherapy diagnosis in Mulago hospital.
Without any job, Surundu says he depends on good Samaritans for clothes and shoes.
Currently, Surundu resides in Euata village in Arua district. He completed his primary education in Arua demonstration and O level education at Mvara secondary school.
