Ahead of the CECAFA Kagame Cup, KCCA FC coach Mike Mutebi has promoted six players from the club's junior side to the senior team.

These include Musa Ramadhan, Joseph Kafumbe, Hassan Jurua, Samuel Kato, Joseph Kizza Bukenya and Sadat Anaku.

Of the six, Ramadhan, Kato and Anaku will be part of KCCA's contingent that travels to Rwanda on Wednesday for the tournament, while the others will stay behind to sit exams.

"This competition is going to help these players to develop. It gives them an opportunity to learn one or two things. As KCCA, we are ready for the competition and our motive is to win it," stated Mutebi.

KCCA will start its campaign against Kenyan side Bandari FC at Huye Stadium on Sunday in Butare. The annual competition gets underway on Saturday and run until July 21

The Lugogo side, who were the first Ugandan club to win the competition in 1978, will later face defending champions Azam of Tanzania in Group B on July 9 before completing the group stages against Mukura Victory Sports on July 12.
