The indiscipline of students is hurting the scholarship programme run by Brac Uganda, according to the organisation's top officials.

This was revealed during the Mastercard foundation school leadership forum held at Golf Course Hotel in Kampala on Thursday.

The foundation's the communications manager, Grace Senoga, says there are many cases of theft, contempt of rules, misuse of school uniforms, escaping from school and drug abuse.

She says their rules is that the student on scholarship attends school, adding that they sign a promisory note agreeing to adhere to school rules.

She says BRAC, ensures that these students reform and they are not discontinued, adding that when they do not change, they are discontinued.

The programme, which will end in 2020, 5,000  students have benefitted.
