Balinya joins Tanzanian side Yanga

The former Police star signed a two-year deal

He may have been dropped from the Uganda Cranes' AFCON squad but attacking midfielder Juma Balinya is a happy man again following his move to Tanzanian giants Yanga SC.

The former Police star signed a two-year deal for an undisclosed fee and was unveiled on Saturday in Dar-es-Salaam.

Balinya who was the Uganda Premier League's top scorer with 19 goals was handed the no. 9 shirt.

He started his career at Vipers SC before he left for a stint with AS Port in Djibouti. After spending two years there, he returned to feature for defunct Lweza which was relegated.

He then signed at Police FC for the 2017/18 season and he grew in leaps and bounds showcasing his ability last season, leaving many clubs clamouring for his signature.

Balinya joins a pool of other Ugandan players that to have featured for Yanga including Emmanuel Okwi, Diego Hamis Kiiza, Joseph Owino and Steven Bengo.

His first task is to ensure that Yanga adds to their 27 league titles when the new season gets underway.
