Hosts Rwanda's annihilation of Uganda 96-36 Wednesday in the ongoing FIBA Africa Zone V U16 Championship raised eyebrows especially within the local basketball fraternity.
The margin of loss rather than the loss its self brings so much to question. Are the hosts too good or the Junior Silverbacks have drastically dropped in performance?

Nonetheless, the key to note is that Rwanda are known to have a huge boys project largely considered the best in the region.
On the other hand, Uganda has over the last few years proved to be a huge force in the girls' category.
For the boys it was a brutal introduction to the campaign, losing their first game in this manner with Rwanda's Kevin Ishema scoring a game-best 20 points in the one-sided affair.
The big score ultimately undermined Jonathan Kasilimbi's 10 points from the junior Silverback.
Meanwhile, the Junior Gazelles remain rampant in the competition after defeating the hosts 63-55 in their second game of the contest.
Maria Najjuma's standout performance made the difference with 31 points and 36 rebounds. The girls are back in the fold Friday against Tanzania.
The event is a qualifier for the FIBA Africa U16 Nations Championship 2019 August in Rwanda.
