Uganda Cranes coach Sebastien Desabre has called upon his players to remain focused as the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) finals in Egypt get closer.
The squad is currently camped in Abu Dhabi for a training camp of the tournament slated to happen between June 21 and July 19.
“Everything is moving on very well but I don’t expect any of the players to relax. We have two friendly matches on June 9 and 15 before we fly out to Egypt. The mind and body of each player in the camp must remain focused to make my work very easy when selecting the final team next week," stated Desabre.
A team of 28 players is currently in the camp but that number will be trimmed to 23 after the two friendly matches against Turkmenistan and Ivory Coast are played.
With the intensity of the preparations getting higher with each passing day, Desabre cautioned his players on the values of keeping fit and focused during Thursday morning’s training session at the Abu Dhabi Cricket Sports Complex.
Uganda is placed in Group A alongside hosts Egypt, Zimbabwe and DRC.
