Fistula day commemoration in Rukungiri

This year’s International Fistula Day under the theme: “Fistula is a human rights violation-end it now.” was held at Nyarushanje Model Primary School in Ibanda parish, Nyarushanje sub-county in Rukungiri district. The colourful event which was organized by the Ministry of Health with support of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) kicked off with a 30-minute walk through the community led by Women at Work International (WAWI).  State minister for general duties, Sarah Opendi who officiated at the commemoration also visited fistula patients at Kisiiki hospital.
