She advised proprietors of small industries to petition the government on issues of taxes and importing raw materials from other countries.

"As a minister of trade and Industry I have an interface with many industrialists in the country and most of them complain about high taxes on raw materials especially those imported from outside the country. My appeal to you is to petition government so that your grievances are looked into," she said.

Kyambadde said that government is committed to helping investors in the country because they create employment opportunities for the youths in the country.

"Many youths are confronted by a number of challenges, ranging from unemployment, limited access to markets, and to poor entrepreneurship skills. We want to partner with investors like you to help create more job opportunities for them, "she said.

Kyambadde promised to help proprietors of K-ROMA industry to access industry land in order for them to expand expeditiously.

The managing director of K-ROMA limited, Prudence Ukkonika earlier called government to reduce on taxes especially among the small industrialists saying that it has caused many of them to close.

She said that most of those industries serve communities and even offer employment to most youths in rural areas.

"We set up these industries on small scales to serve the community and even offer jobs to youths. But because of high taxes imparted on those industries, many have closed," she said.

Ukkonika asked the government to avail free land for industrialization for local investors.
