Museveni arrives for IPOD

The members waited from morning until 6:30pm, when the president finally came

President Yoweri Museveni has arrived for the IPOD meeting taking place at Protea Hotel in Entebbe.

Since morning, political leaders have been waiting for him to start the summit. They insisted that the summit could not go on without Museveni.

The long wait prompted the chairman of IPOD, Norbert Mao, to issue an ultimtum, saying if the president did not turn up in 30 minutes (after 6:00pm), he would call off the meeting.

However, the president arrived in the time and the summit started.

The summit that was scheduled to start at 9:30am was supposed is discusing IPOD council recommendations on public funding to political parties, the Public Order Management Act, the question of independents in a multiparty political system and the constitution and electoral reforms.
