KAMPALA- Apart from being disciplined and hardworking citizens, mothers have been urged never to give up their dreams.

Speaking during a one-day workshop on women and youth mentorship at Amka foundation based home at Kasubi, in Kampala District, the Police Spokesperson  CP, Fred Enanga said, as young children, our parents trained us to dream big.

However, we placed our dreams aside when we grew older and started living stressful and unfulfilled lives.

“The older we get, we lose our enthusiasm and ambition. We settle for a mediocre life and forget about our dreams,” he said.

Enanga encourages the participants to pursue their dreams noting that it is never too late to work on them again.

He added that many times, people have laughed at women and females’ dreams and tried to discourage them.

However, they should not allow circumstances to limit how far they dream and go in life.

On the same issue, the Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) Education officer, Kulthum Nabunya Muzaata, advised the women to focus on things that are meaningful in life and be of great value to their partners and the community.

“Remember, great things happen to people who have set their minds on them. They don’t just happen. If you believe in something, and work for it with all your might, you will surely achieve it,” she said.

Muzaata offered a Quran to the Islamic religious student leader, Ayikoru Zabib.

“In this month of Ramadan, I felt it was essential to share something for the spiritual life of our Muslim sisters at Amka Foundation.

It is crucial that we always sharpen our understanding of our religions and it’s the reason why I feel the need to share the Holy Quran with you. Share it with those who need it,” she added.
