KABALE - Police in Kabale district have started inquiries into the alleged murder of a 40-year-old man, a resident of Rwamukundi village, Kirijime ward Southern division, Kabale Municipality.

According to Elly Maate, Kigezi Police Spokesperson, the deceased identified as Edison Nuwagaba was on Thursday morning found dead and his body hanging on an avocado tree at Nyakambu.

"The deceased is said to have left home yesterday for his routine business at his shop on Keita Road in the same location but did not return home at his usual time," he said.

Maate noted that the deceased's delay to get back home made his wife Doreen Kembabazi suspicious and notified friends and relatives.

"Yesterday morning, she had reported a case of disappearance at Kabale police station,and as she was doing so, we were told that her husband's body was seen hanging," said Maate.

He added that Police visited the scene and discovered that he was murdered and hanged because his arms were tied from behind.

"The body was taken to Kabale referral hospital for post-mortem. The deceased hails from Buyanja sub-county in Rukungiri district," said Maate.
