West Nile golfers could be on their way to clinching the overall Castle Lite Uganda Open Tour trophy after picking their second win on the road.

As the tour made a stop at the Mary Louise Simkins Memorial Golf Club in Namulonge on Saturday, West Nile again came in numbers and amassed 49 points to win their second club tour trophy.

Leading their charge was Gordon Obitre who returned 65nett to claim the overall winners' trophy in the outing that attracted 104 players. Uganda Golf Club's Bridget Nakamoga was the ladies overall winner with 65nett.

"I've played here several times but this is just my first overall win since starting out in December last year. The course was fine. It was better than when I last played here; the fairways were good." Obitre said.

"My game was fine, my putting was good; I got three birdies and I drove on the fairway but there were so many out of bounds today," Obitre stated after receiving the overall winners' trophy from NACCRI's director, Chris Emong.

Ismail Dalfido and William Gayo who were winners and runner up in Group B, Isaac Atiku Opika and Abole Amiga in Group C and Patricia Nakuya who won the ladies Group B were the other stars for West Nile.

The day's hosts Namulonge had Marvin Kibirige, Tom Jjingo and Dominic Musoke dominating in Group A as Paul Ndyaguma got to the podium in Group C to help their team to second place finish on the day.
