Proline moved closer to their first final of the Stanbic Uganda Cup following their 2-1 victory over Kyetume in the semifinals first leg match played Monday away in Nakisunga , Mukono.
 
The Kampala based side will now need a draw in their return leg match slated for May 5 to make it to the final, while Kyetume only need to beat Proline 1-0 at Lugogo if they to bounce back.
 
Ibrahim Bonyo opened the lead for Proline in the 24 minute before Mustafa Mujuzi doubled the lead three minutes at the start of the second half. Veteran striker Robert Sentongo pulled one back for Kyetume in the 69th minute.
 
In other semifinal, Bright Stars played to 1-1 draw with Express on Sunday in Mwererwe,Matugga. The sides will meet again in the return leg on May 9.
 
The clash for silverware in this year's Uganda Cup followed Stanbic Bank‘s sh120m sponsorship.
 
This is an increase of sh30m were all the top 16 teams in the competition will walk away with cash prize compared to last season were they rewarded the best eight.
 
Masaka Recreational ground will host this year's final on May 25 .Cup holders KCCA did not go past the round of 32 after losing 3-1 on penalties against Tooro United after a 1-1 draw.
