ENTEBBE - President Yoweri Museveni has taken a trip down south to Zimbabwe for a two-day working visit.
He set off on the official trip after being invited by his Zimbabwean counterpart, Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa, the third president of the southern African nation.
Both Uganda and Zimbabwe are landlocked.
During his stay, President Museveni is expected to officiate at the 60th Zimbabwe International Trade Fair in Bulawayo today (Friday) at the Zimbabwe International Exhibition Centre.
He departed Thursday afternoon from Entebbe Airport, seen off by government officials, including Minister for Presidency Esther Mbayo and Secretary to Cabinet John Mitala.
Later in the day, he was warmly received by his host, President Mnangagwa, at Gabriel Mugabe International Airport in the capital Harare.
The annual expo is underway in Zimbabwe's second-largest city, which is a gateway to Matobo National Park, home to the Matobo Hills rock formations and Stone Age cave art.
The five-day fair, which acts as a trade hub for the region, started on Tuesday and will run until Saturday. It is understood that the latest edition's focus is on reenergized business and achieving rapid and inclusive industrialisation.
More than 500 exhibitors are showcasing and 16 countries are participating at the fair, which attracts both trade and public visitors.
