Request for application from key population-led or leaning civil society organisations for the key population investment fund (KPIF)

Mildmay Uganda (MUg) is an indigenous Nongovernmental organization (NGO) that partners with Government of Uganda and its development partners to end the HIV epidemic and to realize a strong, effective, efficient and sustainable national health system. MUg's Vision is "Communities Transformed for Sustainable Health" and the Mission is, "Empowering communities for health and sustainable livelihoods by providing quality healthcare, developing human resources for health and generating evidence to influence health policy."

With funding from PEPFAR through Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), MUg is the comprehensive implementing partner for Cooperative Agreement No. 1NU2GGH002046-01-00: Accelerating Epidemic Control in the 8 Districts of Mubende Region in the Republic of Uganda under the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR). The project area comprises the districts of Kiboga, Kyankwanzi, Luweero, Mityana, Mubende, Nakaseke, Kasanda and Nakasongola. Mildmay Uganda supports district Local governments and Community based Organisations there in to provide innovative and evidence informed HIV services to the people of the Mubende Region Project.

Effective 1st April 2019, PEPFAR has availed funds to specifically address the HIV Prevention, Care and Treatment needs of Key Populations. The 2-year Key Population Investment Fund (KPIF) shall be used to scale up KP-led community approaches to substantially accelerate HIV epidemic control among Key populations (KP) at high risk of HIV transmission and acquisition as defined by PEPFAR for the utilizing of the two-year Key Population Investment Fund (KPIF).
