Group A: Angola, Uganda, Tanzania, Nigeria

Following intensive preparations in Kenya, Uganda Cubs coach Paa Samuel Kwesi is in bullish mood ahead of the Africa U-17 Cup of Nations that gets underway in Tanzania on Sunday.

"I think they are doing well, fortunately, we have an able assistant who did a good job, therefore, we are just adding onto what has been done already and so far it's been good," stated Kwesi shortly before departing for Tanzania from Nairobi on Wednesday morning.

"It is common knowledge that when you gather children at the U17 level and move them out of their country to another country, it gives them enough energy to work hard. Since we came to Kenya the boys have performed very well and improved day by day," added the Ghanaian.

The team is expected to carry out a mandatory MRI age test on Thursday ahead of the opening game against Angola on Sunday.

Uganda is placed in group A with the hosts, Nigeria and Angola. Guinea, Cameroon, Morocco and Senegal are pooled in Group B.
