Awilo Longomba's terrific performance did not leave any reveller seated—ordinary or VIP. Revellers, from Buganda Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga to National Resistance Movement secretary general Kasule Lumumba were in attendance.

The Congolese soukous legend rocked Serena's Victoria Hall for one hour and fifteen minutes nonstop.

He opened the show with a highly energetic Moyen Te anthem that threw the sold-out concert hall into a frenzy.

The tabled guests in VIP did not hold back as they usually do and got on their feet as the much as the excited backbenchers.

Show-goers sang and danced along before going wild at the entrance of Awilo's long-time stage partners—the enthralling female dancers.

After Awilo had performed Cache Cache in sync with the audience, he invited his sweaty fans to draw near to him.

"My brothers, I love you. Come and dance near me here. Come we take selfies, sing, dance and do anything you want," Awilo said.

Dozens thronged the area near the stage and partied with their superstar. The number continued to swell with every pulsating song Awilo's 12-man band played.

He planned to end with another favourite hit, Gâté le Coin, but that was not to be.

He had to call back his band to play Porokondo, a special request from his charged fans who had crowded out the front area.

The show ended as energetically as it started, but with everyone trying to catch their breath after gyrating to Awilo’s legendary classics including Coupe Bibamba and Karolina.

The entire show was an incredible scene of thrill seekers and old-timers having a great time.
