Weatherhead men are still a cast of ambitious characters; a strong message they continue to put out there for their opponents.

Failure to defend the National Hockey League title last year had killed their aura of invincibility, with giants Wananchi reclaiming the coveted top status.

This year, the side has already exhibited signs of a team going for glory, something they cannot hold back.

"We are all in. The title is something we are really taking serious and the team has laid out strategies and yes, one of them is to see how we can stop Wananchi which in our opinion is the biggest competitor," said Weatherhead coach-player Vincent Kasasa.

Kasasa was on the mark with a brace in a brutal whitewash of Rockets 11-0 on Saturday at the National Hockey Stadium in Lugogo. Arnold Kasumba produced a match-best return of a hat trick as the Rockets were made to sweat.

"Of course its still early days but we are fired up and ready to fight on," Kasasa added.

Meanwhile, Kampala Stallions are equally determined to win this year's title so that it can coincide with the club's ten years anniversary.

Stanley Tamale scored a brace in the 5-0 humbling of Historicals on Sunday to keep Stallions' dream alive.
