St. Lawrence put up a tremendous performance as they emerged winners of the second edition of the Samson Muwanguzi Memorial Beach Soccer tournament over the weekend at Lido Beach, Entebbe.

They defeated Isabeti 6-4 in the final. Swalleh Kiggundu who was named the top scorer (11 goals) and MVP of the competition, scored a hattrick before Sulaiman Ochero, Jonathan Kikonyogo and an own goal from Meddie Kibiringe saw St. Lawrence come out as victors.
 
Rica Byaruhanga's brace and another from Hamim Semakula were not enough for Isabeti who had their dream of winning a double this season shattered.

The memorial beach soccer tournament is an annual championship that was previously known as the Copa Entebbe. It is played in honour of the late Samson Muwanguzi, the former proprietor of Lido beach. He was integral in the development of beach soccer in Uganda. 
 
MUBS, Stormers, KIU, Nkumba who all failed to turn up for competition risk losing points and goals in the league since it was mandatory for every league team to participate in the knock competition.
