Mulondo who was one of Vipers best player before picking up the injury, was the first choice in the heart of Vipers defence.

Vipers' centre back Livingstone Mulondo is on the verge of returning to the first team following his good response to treatment following a knee injury he sustained in the game against Tooro United on February 12.

Mulondo who was one of Vipers best player before picking up the injury was the first choice in the heart of Vipers defence. He has been out of action for six games.

"He is undergoing rehabilitation which will last for a fortnight. This stage involves non-weight strengthening exercises such as squats among others," stated Vipers' strength and conditioning coach Ram Nyakana Mpuga.

"He will do this before we go to the gym in the next days and see how he responds. After this, if Mulondo comes through, then he's fit; he will be free to begin training with the rest of the team," he added.

Mulondo who joined Vipers from Kirinnya Jinja SS last July has been impressive in defence, partnering Halid Lwaliwa.

In a related development, defender Geoffrey Wasswa and goalkeeper Bashir Ssekagya are other players who have been out of Vipers team due to knee problems and their return dates are not yet known.
