The Baby Cricket Cranes are carrying the weight of the world on their shoulders. Frank Akankwasa and Co have blown up the mission at the ICC U19 World Cup Africa Qualifier in Namibia and certainly, no one can live with this.

Namibia condemned them to a 109 runs defeat Thursday at the United Ground. They will have themselves to blame for the back to back defeats (Nigeria and Namibia) which has ended Uganda's hopes of a third world Cup appearance.

Just like two years in a previous qualifier, the Baby Cricket Cranes again decided to field after winning the toss in a tense game; they are yet to learn how to hold their nerves.

Namibia's top order presented the defining moment of the game with opener Henry Blink opening for a half century of 55 from 68 balls. In a game best return, Diven La Cock scored a near century of 91 from 97 balls before he was out caught.

In a rather free-scoring inning, they had reached to 250 with Uganda requiring a huge 251.

Zephania Arinaitwe got the scoreboard moving with a promising half century of 69 from 30 balls before he was out caught. However, his score turned out to be the team best as Uganda were all out for 141.

Uganda will now play Tanzania Saturday in rather a bid to fight for pride as the nurse wounded egos for failure to progress to the 2020 World Cup in South Africa. Nigeria leads the standings unbeaten on 8 points above Namibia on 6 and Uganda on 4. The former is one win away from winning the qualifier.

Uganda has only been to two World Cups in 2004 (Bangladesh) and 2006 (Sri Lanka)
