He becomes the second Ugandan to play in Kazakhstan

Uganda Cranes midfielder William Kizito Luwagga has joined Kazakhstan top tier side Shakhter Karagandy on loan from Romania's CMS Politehnica until the end of the season.

This will not be the first time Luwagga is being loaned out by Politehnica after he had a spell at Belarus champions BATE Borisov last season.

It is not clear whether Luwagga will return to Politehnica since his contract expires in June.

The former Bunamwaya (now Vipers) player has previously had spell at Leixoes, Sporting Covilha, CD Feirense and Rio Ave.

He becomes the second Ugandan to play in Kazakhstan after former Uganda Cranes captain, Andy Mwesigwa.

Mwesigwa featured for FC Ordabasy between 2011 and 2014 before returning to the side in 2017 but his return was cut short by an injury.

Luwaaga who has out of the national team picture for a while, is considered one of the Uganda's most skilful players.
