Uganda ready for the IHF trophy in Zanzibar

Uganda opens their campaign in the U-18 category against Kenya at 2:00pm before facing Tanzania and Sudan on Wednesday in the group stages.

Uganda handball teams on Tuesday face their opponents in the International Handball Federation (IHF) Trophy girls' tournament with their focus on the title.
 
Uganda opens their campaign in the U-18 category against Kenya at 2:00pm before facing Tanzania and Sudan on Wednesday in the group stages.
 
In the U-20 category, the Uganda ladies face Djibouti at 4:00pm and will take on Burundi on Wednesday before ending their group stages against Sudan.
 
According to Saudha Babirye, the federation secretary, the teams are in good shape and looking to qualify for the ZoneV Africa championship.
 
The tournament is meant to expand the reach of age grade handball and the winners of the tournament will qualify for the inter-continental championships later this year.
 
The Inter-continental championships will be the qualifiers for the 2020 IHF Women's Junior World Cup Championships in Romania.
 
"Our target is making it to the world championships and I'm hopeful that we can make it the superior stage," UHF Secretary Saudha Babirye stated.
