Jinja - Veteran playmaker David Bagole was in an inspiring mood following his man of the match performance that saw him score and create as Kirinya defeated struggling Nyamityobora FC 2-1 in Saturday’s Star times premier league match held at the Mighty arena in Jinja.
The ever-active midfielder created for Jerome Kirya‘s opener after 12 minutes. He then scored the winning goal after 86 minutes with a well taken free kick into the top right corner to send the home fans into wild jubilation.
The visitors pulled one back from a penalty through substitute Peter Mutebi deep in injury time but it was not enough to make a late scramble for a point as the Jinja side registered their third consecutive home win of the season after recently recording victories over Express FC, Police FC and Mbarara City FC at the den.
"Every team is hard to break down because everybody is fighting for points but above all, I am Happy to see my players respond to what I told them to treat each game like a final.
The spirit is high in the team as they hope to finish in a respectable position in the league,’’ said Kirinya caretaker coach Bogere Kikomeko.
‘’My team plays very well and indeed we have scored in every away match but we simply don’t put away the chances we create as opposed to our opposition teams that create and score. But we must fight till the last match because we know that we have enough matches to save our season,’’ said Nyamityobora FC coach Juma Ssekiziyivu.
Kirinya has 30 points.
