The Uganda National softball team is all out for glory at the Kenya softball invitational tournament.
Kenya is quite a familiar side for the pearl having last met in the 2017 East Africa Baseball and Softball Championship in Mwanza with the later showing might.
World governing body WBSC sanctioned this tournament and this obviously means that the Pearls are taking it seriously.
At the start of the year, Uganda laid out a campaign aimed at preparing for the Africa Olympic Qualifier in Pretoria South Africa.
The Kenya meet is part of the campaign and the federation has already promised fireworks when the tournament gets underway Saturday in Nairobi.
"Since the start of the year the girls have been immensely training from different regions and we believe they are up for the challenge," said Dennis Kasozi chairman Uganda Baseball and Softball.
The team was flagged off Friday at the National Council of Sports offices, Lugogo
The invitational includes only Uganda and Kenya as the two sides look to represent the region at the Africa meet.
