KIIRA EVS rocks Kabale

The KIIRA EVS car also known as “The beast” is in western Uganda on a showcasing mission which started from Mbarara, Kisoro, then to Kabale.

KABALE-Wednesday will be a day to remember for most town dwellers in Kabale municipality as it was a surprise for them to experience a Ugandan made car on their streets.

The KIIRA EVS car also known as "The beast" is in western Uganda on a showcasing mission which started from Mbarara, Kisoro, then to Kabale.

It will proceed to Kasese and Fort Portal.

According to Allan Muhumuza, the Kiira Motors Business development manager, the move was also aimed at showcasing the ability of the Ugandan made car and its capacity to travel across the country.

"We also wanted Ugandans to validate their own car and to have its real feeling. Ugandans are very proud of what we have done and they feel delighted to support it," he said.

The Kiira EVS is a 4-seater executive vehicle built off the Kiira EV SMACK Platform fitted with a 2.0 litre petrol engine, 5 speed automatic transmission, and an exquisite beige interior trim.

Joseph Monday, the Kabale municipality town clerk was among the first people to feel this car in Kabale.

He described the feeling he got after as a thrilling since he could not control the excitement he registered that day.

"I want to confirm that this car is all we need to be proud of as Ugandans. I cannot believe that out of this country, people came up with such a product. It may not  of high quality as these other cars made in first world countries but we ought to cherish it as our very own," he said.

Frank Matsiko, a mechanic said he was impressed to see that the car was in a good mechanical condition and the way it was assembled was uniquely beautiful.

"I tried as much as I could to check its mechanical standards and I realised it was on point and above all it really looks amazingly assembled," he said.
