Notice from Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development

1. Background The Government of Uganda through the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development (MEMD) received credit from the World Bank / IDA for implementation of the Grid Expansion Reinforcement Project (GERP). MEMD therefore intends to apply part of the Credit proceeds to procure Services of an Individual Consultant to support and manage social risks including Gender Based Violence (GBV) and Violence Against Children (VAC) in the on-going World Bank energy funded projects. This initiative is within the Government of Uganda (GoU's) commitment and overall framework to manage social risks in investment projects across a range of sectors, energy inclusive. 
2. The objective of the Assignment. The overall objective of the assignment is to provide technical support to Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development and project implementation agencies to strengthen the GBV and VAC prevention, identification, referral and response components for project populations at risk of GBV/VAC, survivors, communities the projects traverse.
