Express FC appoint Simu after sacking Kefa Kisala

Feb 06, 2019

Kisala and his entire technical team left the club by mutual consent and have been replaced by Express legends Simwogerere, James Magala and Hassan Mubiru as head coach, assistant and trainer respectively.

But the big question remains; will the good old days return to Wankulukuku with the immensely popular former Express captain George Simwogerere taking over as coach
from Kefa Kisala?

Kisala and his entire technical team left the club by mutual consent and have been replaced by Express legends Simwogerere, James Magala and Hassan Mubiru as head coach, assistant and trainer respectively.

"On behalf of Express, I thank coach Kisaala and outgoing technical team for the work done and wish them the best in their future endeavours. This is in line with the
club's ongoing rebuilding and restructuring strategy," read a communication from club chairman Kiryowa Kiwanuka.

Kisala's exit came after Express' 2-0 defeat to Police on Monday in the local league at Wankulukuku stadium. This sparked off resentment from the fans who wanted the club
to sack Kisala and indeed they did not disappoint.

It is not clear how long Simwogerere and Co. will be in charge, but they will have to bring back Express' glory days if they are to stay in the job.

A trip to Jinja against BUL on Sunday will be Simwogerere's first game at Express.
