FUFA suspends Mike Mutebi, Ssimbwa and Kajoba

Three Uganda Premier League coaches have received a four-game ban and a fine of sh2m each for bringing the game into disrepute.
 
FUFA handed Mike Mutebi of KCCA FC, Sam Ssimbwa of URA FC and Fred Kajoba of Bright FC the punishment for comments made about the state and management of the game in the country.
 
“Coaches Mike Mutebi of  KCCA FC, Sam Ssimbwa (URA FC) and Fred Kajoba (Bright FC) have been handed financial fines (UGX 2M each) for bringing the game into disrepute.
 
Ssimbwa and Mutebi have also been banned for four matches each. Mutebi’s matter has also been forwarded to the FUFA Match Integrity Committee,” read a communication posted on the FUFA social media platform.

 Mutebi’s allegedly said that KCCA had a budget for fixing matches before former Executive Director Jennifer Musisi took over at the authority. He also reportedly said all the titles the club had won in the last twenty years were as a result of match-fixing.

 
Ssimbwa is accused of calling referees cheats during a post-match press conference in Jinja after his side dropped points against Kirinja Jinja SS, while Kajoba and his technical bench disrupted their game with Tooro United FC in the 76th minute after a penalty was awarded to their opponents.
