Rev. Mathew Omagor of Pentecostal Assembly of God (PAG) has bounced back as the bishop of Central Teso Pastorate covering the districts of Soroti and Serere.

A select committee of seven elders compromising of retired and serving reverends, including the district women leader, and chaired by Rev. Francis Atwau, re-elected Omagor during a pastorate delegates assembly for PAG held at PAG Main Church in Soroti Municipality.

The secretary of the committee, Rev. Charles Eboka, declared Omagor the newly elected bishop replacing Rev. Sam Abuku who has served since February 2014.

Omagor served as bishop of PAG Soroti from 2007-11. During this tenure, he claimed that someone working in the PAG development office reported him to the head office in Kampala that he had committed adultery.

After going through a disciplinary process, Omagor was posted to serve as missionary pastor with Arua PAG church to-date.

Rev. Ezra Agama an assembly pastor with Osuguro PAG in Serere was elected secretary/treasurer for central Teso pastorate, replacing Rev. Robert Opila.

Rev. Patrick Ekwau, who was ordained as a reverend on Wednesday alongside five others, retained his position as the ministry coordinator.

The other five church leaders ordained as reverends are Richard Elimu, Edward Etanu, Charles Oedo, Joseph Joel Erepu and Stanley Ochen.

The presiding bishop of PAG in Uganda, Rev. Simon Peter Emiau, asked the elected leaders to be single minded by dropping whatever they have been doing so that they focus on the church's development.

The next PAG pastorate delegates assembly will be held in 2024.
