ACCIDENT   DEATH  LYANTONDE

Shock gripped residents of Rwebiteete village on Akageti trading centre on Mbarara -Lyantonde road when a fuso truck lost control and overturned, killing the driver and three passengers on board on Monday morning.

Samson Kasasira, the Rwizi region Police spokesperson, says it happened at around 5:00am in the morning when a fuso lorry registration UAV 292W, which was heading to Kampala, overturned.

Kasasira told New Vision on phone that the bodies were not yet identified, but have been taken to Lyantonde Hospital.

Meanwhile, panga-wielding men on Sunday night attacked the home of Philbert Mujuni, a teacher at Nice Parks Primary School, hacking him and dumped his body in a farm in Rwobuyenje, Migamba cell in Kakiika division Mbarara Municipality.

Kasasira said the Police homicide unit was tipped off, visited the scene and found the body of Mujuni in the farm. He added that the body, which bore marks of panga cuts on the arm and legs, has been taken to Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital for postmortem. He said the Police have arrested one suspect in connection with the murder.

"We haven't established the motive behind the gruesome murder, but so far we have arrested one person we think will help us in investigations."

The murder case has been registered under CRB108/19.
