Vipers interim coach Michael Ouma has called on his side to convert their chances if they are to progress to CAF Confederation Cup group stages.

Ouma was speaking to the media after his side settled for a goalless draw against Tunisian side CS Sfaxien in the first leg of the playoff round played on Saturday at St Mary's stadium, Kitende.

"It was a good game. We created several chances, but we only failed to convert them. It is important for us as a team to create chances. If you look back at some games we have played, we have not been good enough going forward, but I am happy we created chances. We only need to be more efficient," said Ouma.

Tito Okello, Noah Wafula and skipper Taddeo Lwanga are some of the Vipers players that were denied goals by visitors.

The two sides meet again in the return leg slated for this weekend in Tunis with the winner progressing to the group stages.
