Aruu County Member of Parliament, Samuel Odonga Otto has been hospitalised in Kampala complaining of pain in the legs and chest after he got involved in a motor accident along Luweero-Nakasongola highway on Friday morning.

The MP who was initially admitted at Bishop Ceaser Asili hospital in Luweero town, was transferred to Kampala.

The Savannah regional police commander, Marble Asingwire said the MP got involved in the accident at around 4.00 am as he was driving from Northern Uganda towards Kampala.

Asingwire noted that Otto's car rammed into a trailer that had earlier overturned in the middle of the road at Katuugo trading centre, located about 62 miles on the Kampala-Gulu highway in Nakasongola district.

According to police, the straight stretch is a known black spot for motorists. After the accident, the legislator's wrecked car was towed off the road.

Medical staff at Bishop Asili hospital said Otto was transferred to Kampala aboard an ambulance that was dispatched by the Parliament.

Unconfirmed sources said he was transferred to Nakasero hospital in Kampala.
