Over 600 graduate with vocational skills

Graduates of vocational studies have been advised to seek for government financial support.

Over 600 students graduated with certificates and diplomas in fields of Business studies, vocational and technical studies, humanities, computing, health sciences from Makland Institute of Business and Management (MIBM).

Graduates of vocational studies have been advised to seek for government financial support through different programmes such as the youth livelihood program, women fund to start up employment opportunities for themselves and others.

The call was made by Isaac Mulindwa Ssozi, the Member of Parliament for Lugazi Municipality in Buikwe district, while officiating at the graduation ceremony.

"You people, who have completed education today, do not go around looking for jobs, make groups so that you can be able to have access to government funds. These funds are there and some youth groups are making use of them. We do not expect you to start looking for jobs since you are entrepreneur," he explained.

Mulindwa also thanked the private sector for helping the government to educate the nation since not all Ugandans can make it to government institutions of higher learning.

Richard Musumba, the principal of Makland Institute Business and Management said they have given the students the right skills to enable them become entrepreneurs that the country needs. These skills can allow them to be job creators.

"We expect them to able to start their own jobs however those who can get jobs we ask them to be loyal," he explained.

He encouraged them to further their careers by joining universities for undergraduate and graduate programs.
