CHRISTMAS CONCERT
KAMPALA - Christmas is almost at hand. So, prominent Church choirs are throwing Christmas concerts for their fans.
The Franciscan Choir, the choral group that leads the singing during the 11O'clock mass at Christ the King Church (Kampala) is one of the choral groups that have already ushered their loyal fans into the Christmas festive season. It staged its upscale concert at Theatre La Bonita on Sunday.
During the three-hour-long concert, the Franciscan performed Christmas songs of various musical genres with utmost agility. They were full of life and joy as they performed songs of local music composers like Fr Dr James Kabuye and Joseph Kyagambiddwa. They were also at their best as they performed the classical musical works of immortal composers like W.A. Mozart's Viva and G.F. Handel's And the Glory.
The Franciscan choir performed alongside the youthful Trinity Worship Team (based at Nsambya), who excited the congregation with their beautiful praise and worship melodies.
But probably the concert would not have been all that beautiful without the great skill of music director Ambrose Kizito and the choir's strong executive committee led by the youthful Ronald Kasozi.
Credit also goes to the Choir's Board of Trustees who include Mrs Beatrice Mulindwa, Mrs Maria Kasozi, Dr Martin Nsubuga, Architect Stanley Mulumba and Engineer William Kalule (among others). The parish priests of Christ the King Church (Kampala) led by Msgr Gerald Kalumba were also highly acknowledged for supporting the musical ministry of the Franciscan Choir.
