KAMAPALA - Brian Bagyenda, a son to ISO director Col Frank Bayenda Kaka, through his lawyer Nsubuga Mubiru, has asked the Kampala High Court to allow him plea bargain the charge of murdering his girlfriend Enid Twijukye in exchange of a lighter sentence.
Bagyenda who is a pharmacist, made the request before Justice Anthony Ojok Ayu who is presiding over a criminal session of 40 capital offenders.
Justice Ayu has since adjourned the session to Monday December 17, to allow both Prosecution and Defence meet and report to her the progress of their talks.
On February 01 2017, Bagyenda with his co-accused including Vincent Rwahwire, a casual labourer residing at Kimwanyi zone, a Kampala suburb and Innocent Bainomugisha a cleaner, appeared before Nakawa Chief Magistrate Court and were charged with murder of Twijukye, a 22-years-old former student of Ndejje University.
Prosecution says the trio committed the offence at Njobe road in Luzira Nakawa Division at the home of Brian Bagyenda, before dumping Twijukye's body in Namanve forest where it was later recovered by police.
